Yosemite National Park Elopement | Yosemite Destination Wedding Photographer
Victoria & Chasen began their elopement journey with a call to me. After learning about their desire to say their "I DO's" in Yosemite National Park at Taft Point, I was super excited to begin the process with them. At their initial inquiry, they told me they were shy in front of the camera and had never had the experience of taking photos with a professional before. Hearing of their apprehension about photography excited me because I knew I could be their first experience and make it one to remember!
Many of my couples have never taken professional photos before, and I am typically the first professional photographer they have encountered. My favorite thing to remind my couples is my process:
One of the most important things I do is work closely with my couples on any session to ensure the day goes as smoothly as possible. I am a genuinely candid photographer, and none of my couples are models. I like to make the sessions as enjoyable as possible by prompting you both to do certain things while also saving plenty of time to be yourselves. I find these are the moments that tell who you are together, and I capture those details and share them back with you in photo form!
It can be a daunting task to be trusted to capture such special moments, and rather than being fearful, it excites me!
V&C decided they wanted to elope for their special day, and it all began with their first look at El Capitan Meadow. What is fantastic about Yosemite is that no matter the time of year, the views are unbeatable! Their first look got them pumped up for the rest of the session, where we explored the meadow and took in El Capitan for all it was worth. One thing, in particular, was on their list of must-have photos. Victoria & Chasen had seen the documentary Free Solo with Alex Honnold shortly before making the trek to the park. If you haven't seen this documentary before, WATCH IT! If you are fearful of heights, maybe don't watch it 😂
El Capitan was an essential inclusion of their photos. After their first look, we traveled out to Taft Point, where the two spoke special promises to one another as the sun began to set. Blue hour came next and did not disappoint. We explored the cliffs with lanterns and were able to experience an even better view of El Capitan from even higher in elevation. Enjoy Victoria & Chasen's amazing Yosemite National Park elopement.
